Singletary Lake
Singletary Lake is the lake that gives name to the North Carolina State Park in which it is located. It is one of the deepest Carolina Bay lakes located in the state’s coastal plains region.
The lake is home to a 500-foot pier built among the beautiful pond cypress trees that adorn the shores of the lake.
Outside of the summer months, when group events may frequently occur in the group camp facilities of the park, the lake is the perfect place to seek solitude; a quiet and peaceful place for a hike, a picnic or for paddling. As a matter of fact, in an early November Saturday morning, my family and I were the only ones there and had the whole lake available just for us.

Take a short hike through the CCC Loop Trail, or bring your own kayak/canoe/SUP board for a light paddle around the lake, or just come to sit by the pier to enjoy the scenery!
Where to Stay
Singletary Lake State Park provides cabins and facilities only for groups. Other campgrounds and RV parks are available in the area though, such us the Jones Lake State Park campground or the RV resort of Camp Clearwater, where my family and I stayed to visit the state parks in the area.
